“On 8/16, when the incision tore back open and showed signs of infection (come to find out, the infection never fully left her body from May). At this point, we ended up at James Island with Dr. Lawrence and her team. From the first visit, they took samples of the tissue, put Missie on a broad-spectrum antibiotic instead, and sent the tissue out for culture to see why the infection wasn’t leaving and why the wound wasn’t healing. The team asked for photo updates at each bandage change, which was every 3-5 days. Dr. Lawrence reviewed the photos each time, and either she or one of the team would reach out on how it was looking. Now we are one month out from working with James Island, and I am beyond happy to say (in only 1 month) they helped clear the infection from our girl’s body, helped the wound actually HEAL, and she is out of her cone and back to her crazy self.

We are forever grateful for the team here and glad to have our girl back to her crazy shepherd self 💜”
